The university required a solution for the Assembly, Integration, and Testing (AIT) and operation of a series of CubeSats built by students at the Rymdcampus in Kiruna, Sweden. The existing ground station relied on outdated hardware and software, which were not designed to interface with or operate modern satellite missions.
The university implemented the Expedite software modem, which includes all necessary mission operation tools—modem, tracking system, scheduler, sequencer, analytics, and diagnostics—all within a single software package. The modem is compatible with most popular satellite transponders, including those from the GomSpace and ISIS families.
The intuitive graphical user interface (GUI) allowed students to comfortably use the Expedite modem to operate their satellite. The advanced REST API enabled the students to integrate the modem with their antenna system and mission control software. They will be fully prepared for in-orbit operations once the satellite is launched.
